I can provide tutoring within the school environment or at my home. The first thing I do is to build self-esteem by aligning myself with the child’s perspective. My sessions are a bit like rehabilitation; reconstructing self-esteem, and scaffolding until their confidence as a learner is regained. I work with dyslexic learners of all ages, which gives me a unique insight into the development of dyslexia.

When carrying out an assessment it is important to consider the individual’s story. This helps us to begin to understand their experience of learning. Without conducting assessments, we can only guess from outward behaviours.
A formal assessment and diagnosis can help everyone to understand the learner (themselves included) and help them to thrive.
